Alaskan-Style Jambalaya Recipe

Preparation Time:
Yields: 4 Servings


1/4 lb Bacon, chopped
2 Garlic Cloves, minced
1 medium Onion, chopped
1 medium Green Pepper, chopped
1/4 lb Spicy Reindeer Sausage, cut in 1/4" slices
1/4 lb Mild Reindeer Sausage, cut in 1/4" slices
1 Tbsp Parsley
1/2 tsp Thyme
Lemon Pepper Seasoning, to taste
Salt & Pepper, to taste
2 cups Beef or Chicken Broth
1 dash Tabasco Sauce
1 1/4 cup Long Grain Rice
1 1/2 cup Shrimp, cooked


In a large skillet, saute bacon, garlic, onion and green pepper 2 to 3 minutes. Add hot and mild reindeer sausage slices. Saute until onion is translucent but not golden. Add parsley, thyme, lemon pepper, salt and pepper. Add broth and tabasco sauce, then bring to a boil for 5 minutes. Add rice, cover and simmer 20 minutes until rice is tender but not mushy.

Stir in shrimp and heat until just heated through. Serve with fresh coleslaw and plenty of your favorite cold beverage.
