Caribou Curry Recipe

Serves 4


1 lb Caribou Meat
1 large Onion, chopped
1 inch Ginger Root, finely chopped
2 cloves Garlic, minced
1 tsp Pepper, to taste
1 tsp Cumin Powder
1 tsp Tumeric
1/2 tsp Salt, to taste
2 Tbsp Mustard Oil
1/2 cup Water or Broth


In a medium skillet, heat oil and add the tumeric, then the remainder of the spices except for the garlic, and mix well. Cut the meat into bite-sized pieces and add to skillet, frying until it becomes brown. Add the garlic, then the water. Simmer gently until the meat is tender and the sauce has thickened a little, about 30 minutes.
